Please email: spevents@hunter.cuny.edu to get a seat. This event is open to non-cuny students so it will be jam packed.
I've only read "The Country Between Us" but Forche is fantastic. Shot out to Chang for introduction to this one too.

This Saturday : 9/26/09
Hello all! So the Poets House is throwing a big doozy this weekend! In past posts I have been a local going abouts informer, but have slacked through the summer. This seems really fantastic.
I am also on assignment to go (my professor for advanced poetry workshop, Ms. Meena Alexander, is reading). Also exciting - I've never seen Howe read.
Please come. It's free. It features Hunter College Faculty and we need more solidarity in the English Department!

Upcoming:

Editors will announce their initial "get to know you" meetings soon. The first week of school is hectic so we aren't going to pour on an immediate date. We'll set the ball rolling soon.
------------------
NOTED:
Great new stuff:
- New people! I love new people!
- Jackets going up on the hooks
- Club fair is coming up
- Four issues on the table outside of the office for your taking!
I did summer reading. Let's bookswap! Also: If you're taking any English Classes that require lots of books, come by and ask if any of us have some of the titles. Chances are pretty good we'll have something. Bargain and swap!
