We had the pleasure of meeting Professor Frumkes while we were advertising for our recent open mic, and we encourage any Hunter writer to take part in what sounds like a great contest. Like us, the new Writing Center CE seems to be intent on cultivating a stronger writing community at Hunter. And how 'bout that prize money?
We were also recently approached by Marian Leitner, a Hunter alum involved in the production of a great new magazine called Explosion Proof. They are currently looking for all kinds of submissions, from writing to art, and also appear to be having a short story contest at the moment, awarding a first edition of The Old Man and the Sea and a feature in their magazine. Check their site for further details!
